Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using PC Satellite TV Software

Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using PC Satellite TV Software

To watch satellite TV on computer using PC satellite TV software is the new way that has challenged the existence and necessity of satellite TV dish system. For those who simply hate the troublesome set up of a DIY satellite dish or even a professionally installed one by the TV service companies, this is a huge step towards push-button satellite TV technology.

In order to watch satellite TV on computer using software, you do need to make sure your PC meets the minimum requirements such as:

1. Pentium III Processor

2. 256 MB RAM

3. Internet Connection – Dial-up Or Broadband

Other peripherals include having a good sound card, video graphics card and speakers.

There are a few competitors in the market selling these software and if you can follow me, the top section of my blog showcases one of the most popular satellite TV software available.

The software is developed after 7 years of research so that you and I can watch satellite TV on computer comfortably at home without paying excessively. The entire research and development cost for the software came to over $200,000. So it is definitely a fine piece of technology.

Why don’t you check out this piece of software and read more about how you can watch satellite TV on computer with it?

Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using PCTV Cards

Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using PCTV Cards

There are folks who watch satellite TV on computer using PCTV cards. You could be one of them. It is quite a relief to know that you do not need to set up a satellite dish system before you can watch the TV channels.

There are basically two types of PCTV cards in the market. One is an external device that can be fitted easily into your PC’s USB port. The other is an internal card that is fitted onto the PCI slot on your motherboard. Needless to say, using an external card is a piece of cake for most people. It is very much plug and play technology. Fitting the internal card requires you to dismantle your computer and then fitting the card. It gets a little bit too technical here if I go into the details of slots and pins so I will not bore you here.

Most TV cards require a minimum PC configuration of Pentium 3 processor and at least 512 KB RAM. You will need an internet connection. The requirement can vary as some can run even on a dial up connection. But frankly, no one goes for dial up nowadays and broadband is THE standard for most surfers. But that said, sometimes, you may be living in a place where broadband is a rarity. In any case, one good old advice is to pop by the local computer hardware shop and ask them if the PCTV cards they offer are compatible with your computer. That would save you a lot of trouble and headaches down the road.

The cards are generally not too cheap and can set you back easily by 200 to 300 US dollars. Well, you can get a decent TV card from Plextor, Pinnacle and other brands for that price so it really depends on how you see it. Invest in an external card if you are not too techie. All you ever need to do is to connect it to your computer’s USB port.

That’s about it! You may watch satellite TV on computer using PCTV cards. Still…there is a third option which we will discover in the next post. Look out…

Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using Digital TV Cards

Watch Satellite TV On Computer Using Digital TV Cards

In the next few posts, we will look at a few ways to watch satellite TV on computer. In this portion, I am going to share with you what some guys are using to have a quick fix.

Have you heard of Digital TV cards?

Such cards can enable your computer to become a satellite TV. However, there is one thing I have to caution you first. Normally, these cards are pirated and sold via online auctions. Mind you, you could be dealing with a satellite TV pirate if you buy it from them. How do you know if they are pirates? These people usually peddle their digital TV cards for about $40. These cards essentially are built and coded to steal satellite TV feeds from established satellite TV service providers.

The reason why some people are willing to risk dealing with satellite TV pirates and hackers is the cheap cost involved. While it is cheap to watch satellite TV on computer using these pirated Digital TV cards initially, it can prove to be very expensive at the end of the day. Let me explain more.

You see, the hackers and pirates are intelligent. But the Digital satellite systems administrators and developers are not dumb either. They are able to come up with jammers or jamming devices or other types of electronic counter measures to jam the Digital TV cards so that they cannot work anymore. So if you are using these Digital TV cards, you could end up with a non-functional one at any time without warning. Imagine watching your favorite satellite TV channel on your computer and suddenly the card hangs on you? Worse still, what if it hangs immediately after you bought it?

When it dies on you, you have two options. One is to go to the satellite TV pirate and buy a new one or you ask them to decode your card. Frankly, I see no value in both ways since you cannot stop the whole jamming cycle anyway. There is no guarantee that the jam will not occur again.

There is a better way to watch satellite TV on computer.
